I have plaster pool, Diamond Brite or similar. The previous owner of the house left me a combo brush where the nylon bristles are disintegrating and left floating in the pool. I'm about to buy a replacement, but wonder if I should get one that's just stainless steel bristles, or the combo style of stainless steel and nylon.

What are the pros/cons of each? Combo brushes seem to be a few dollars more. Is there some reason why they'd be preferred over stainless steel?

If the plaster is new (< year) you should use a nylon only brush. After that, no real issue using the mixed, which is what I now have. The full SS is just going to be a little more harsh.

I do recommend the whale-wall attachment. It only comes with a nylon brush, but I moved the tail over to a mixed brush.
