Inline Rainbow Chlorinator check valve

Hey everyone,

I did a search trying to see if someone asked this question. Didn't, so here goes:

I have a Rainbow inline chlorinator for my in ground pool.

I am pretty sure the BB inside the valve is stuck closed. This will be the third time I have had to replace this part.

I am thinking that due to my equipment being of a higher elevation than the pool, I may not need this valve to begin with.

Am I wrong? What benefits does this check valve provide for my chlorinator?

Thanks for reading.

Dave

Well, being in TX likely where your pool stays open year round, and where you may have water restrictions, I HIGHLY recommend you ditch the trichlor tablets and switch to bleach.

As such, it is my opinion that you should not bother fixing it :D

Sorry I do not know anything about them or how to fix them.

How much Pool School have you read? Start with these:
ABCs of Water Chemistry
Recommended Pool Chemicals
How to Chlorinate Your Pool
