120v or 240v spa blower?

I am replacing my existing 240v spa blower. The spa is only a small half moon, seats 5, adjacent to the pool with spillover. Since the existing electrical circuit, connected to a dial Intermatic timer, is 240v, the existing blower is 240v, no choice.

Since I am putting in a new 100amp sub panel, should I stay with 240v for the new blower, or will 120v be sufficient? Each come in the same HP choices, so what's the difference?

Thanks.

The differences are minor. 240 volt circuits can get away with thinner, less expensive, wire compared to 120 volt circuits. On the other hand, 240 volt circuits require larger more expensive circuit breakers.
