So I'm seeing some of these newer solar pumps. My question is has anyone owned and or worked with them? Looking for some feedback.

Pumps optimized for use with solar power are typically much more expensive than regular pool pumps and require extensive solar panel arrays to work correctly. The resulting setups are typically drastically more expensive than a conventional setup. If you have access to utility power there is never any advantage to using a solar powered pool pump. Solar power can still be worthwhile, just feed it into the utility grid and power the pool pump from the grid.

I'm a solar guy (sales and installation) in Tampa and we do not sell solar pumps - although we do sell high-efficiency pool pumps and other energy-saving technologies to reduce the size of the solar system needed to get the bill to or near zero.
You're much better off looking at solar as a financial investment with a predictable, very attractive, annual return on that investment rather than thinking about what appliance(s) can be run with a certain amount of solar panels.
