Filter Cleaning: Type & Frequency?

Hi TFPeople,

I usually get my spa filters ultrasonically cleaned by Jacuzzi Calgary every 3 months.

Can anyone tell me if this type of cleaning is worth the cost (c.C$20 / filter) and if 3 months is a good frequency?

Our spa is not used that much at the moment, with us being busy raising our little daughter right now.
Maybe once per week.

Could we push filter cleaning up to 120 days with such a low usage?
And are the filter cleaning solutions available at the hot tub stores worth bothering with?

I'd say your frequency is good but I don't know much about the need or value in the ultrasonic cleaning. I myself just soak in a hot water and dishwasher detergent solution to clean mine at about the same interval. It does a good job and is much cheaper.

Daf, I use the same intervals which usually sinks up with me draining the spa and refilling it. I use Leisure time's Filter Clean which has provided good success for me.

Not to sound ignorant but I have never heard of Ultrasonic filtering cleaning. It sounds like a fancy name for something simple.
