SWG and Chlorine

HI All,

Just wondering for my memory bank, if someone with an SWG is having an issue with the water, can you add chlorine so supplement or do they need to do something else because of the SWG? Purely hypothetical, just a question in my mind

you can add FC by other means (bleach as example)

In fact, it is recommended to supplement the FC using bleach if needed. Like if you have a planned high use event, good to bump up the FC with bleach before and/or after. A SWG is very slow at adding chlorine.

And certainly if you end up with algae, you should use bleach to follow the SLAM process ... usually with the SWG turned off.
