I got a new backwash valve because my old one broke and am trying to figure out how to replace it since the straights going to it don't have any play, how can I get a new piece of pipe into the new valve?

Usually you just use PVC/CPVC solvent to attach pipes to the valve, but I am not sure that is what you are actually asking.

So I installed the new backwash valve and I didn't use enough glue because I was scared of it falling on the sliding piston assembly and I have a small leak, what should I do

Photos or a link to the model you have would be of great assistance. Depending on make/model it may allow use different size pipe on the inside and a larger size on the outside of pipe. Say 1.5 inside the valve body fitting and 2.00 on the outside.
