About a year ago I purchased a home with an inground gunite pool, with an as is clause. About 24 hours later we discovered it was leaking. Fast forward a year later, and we just had the 7 cracks that were through the shell repaired, with new plaster, cantilever concrete coping, etc; only to find out that 5 weeks after everything is finished, we are re-cracked in one spot that goes across our deep end, and leaking water. It's almost as if the deep end of the pool is trying to separate from the rest of the pool.
Cracks were repaired by cutting them wider, and filling from the inside and digging behind the outside with epoxy and cement. While this process was going on, they repaired 3 times, because they were still cracking. Now we are discussing staples to try and keep it together…but this price tag just keeps getting higher. We are now thinking we should have an engineer come look at the property to see if something larger is going on. Any suggestions as to what kind of engineer this would be?
