I have an older pool with only one suction line above the ground going to the pump and only 3 return jets, there was a float/diverted mechanism sitting on top of skimmer basket which I assumed allows the pump to pull from floor drain equally with skimmer since there is only one line but my pump will not prime with the diverted in the skimmer basket but when skimmer is by itself jt primes in less then 1 minute, pump is e costar variable. My main question since pool deck cement has seen better days is should I re plumb and fix the main drain?
