I have a 5,000 gallon above ground pool, sand filter. The water is crystal clear, but the skimmer and filter are clogged with a mucus like substance . Help

When I had that at one time, my filter was dirty & needed backwashing. The pump was too slow & all the gunk was getting to the skimmer, the suction wasn't strong enough to suck it down.
You might as well post all your water test results, and filter & pool size. Without all that, it's hard to figure out what the problem might be.
