I was picking up some MA at Leslie's today and after telling them I had switched to liquid chlorine, they mentioned they sell the powder Calcium Hypochlorite without stabilizer. Is there any truth to this? Or if it is true, are there other reasons (besides the CYA) I shouldn't be using the powder form?

Yes, Cal Hypo does not have CYA/Stabilizer. But, it does have calcium, so if you use it carelessly your CH goes through the roof.
Exactly, that is why Leslie's was pushing it when he was "just" buying acid.
