QUAD DE 100 seals

Should the large o-ring in a quad de 100 be coated with a silicon based lubricant?

How about the o-ring for the pressure gauge?

I assume its teflon tape for the pressure gauge threads?

I read the manual to disassemble, the grids had been knocked around during shipping, but didn't see any instructions regarding coating the o-rings.

thanks,

Lubing the o-ring helps prevent dry rot and helps is go together and seal a little better. If it's new, it was probably lightly prelubed at the factory, so the first time is a 'freebie', but after that, I'd suggest lubing it whenever you reassemble the unit. When you're applying the lube, don't stretch the o-ring!! :hammer: What I do is double the ring on itself and gently rub the lube onto the surface.

I usually just use teflon tape on the pressure gauges.

Hope the new filter serves you well and long!!
