Should we slam a fresh fill

We recently installed an inground pool and had water delivered on monday. We have the TF 100 test kit on order and it should be here friday.

This is a green tint (not strong, but somewhat noticeable) only in the deep end. The shallow end is crystal clear.

We have put bleach in to raise the FC to 2 and added stabilizer on wednesday night. We can't do the reading of the CYA until we get the new kit, but we are presuming it is at 40, based on how much stabilizer we put in.

Last night the reading were:

FC: 2
PH: 6.8
TA: 40

We put in 60 oz of 8.5% bleach and a box of borax (76oz) and about a pound of baking soda (based on what pool calculator told us).

Here are the current readings today.

FC: 2
PH: 7.6
TA: 40

These we taken using a pool master 5 way tester.

The question I have is, should we have "slammed" the fresh fill?

Also, how long should we run the pump? - we have been running it 24 hours a day. Mostly at speed 3 (2150 RPM's+/-). We are now slowing to down to Speed 1 (750 RPMS+/-).

Thank you for your help. We have found the website extremely helpful and going the BBB way vs all the pool store chemicals. We have a Hayward inline chlorinator, but we have chosen not to use it as of yet.
