Thanks to all on the forum. Our once hated OLD fiberglass pool is now a pleasure to enjoy on hot Texas summer days. I was sick to death of trips to the pool store and "buy this, now you need that," which has been been replaced by, "Honey, get some more bleach when you're at the store."
We've had a relatively mild summer so the pool is quite comfortable without having to put in a sprayer overnight (Hubby rigged a pond pump to float in the middle of the pool with a spray attachment- it worked beautifully several summers ago, but have not needed it this year.)
Of course, we have a few issues.. the surface of the pool needs updating and we've a small leak in one return line. I wish I'd found TFP years ago, my frustration with pool ownership would not have caused us to give up and let it sit for so long. (Having an 18 y/o niece come live with us helped in the decision making too!)
Anyway, I just wanted to say "Howdy" and "Thank ya" for all the sage advice.
