Digging new pool costs....

Hi all,

We just sold our home with a pool, with the plans of building a new house down the line. Does anyone know if it would save money to dig/install the pool at the same time as the foundation was being dug? Wasn't sure if this is even a good idea. I just thought that combining the jobs might save some money. (Anything to convince hubby to put a pool in our new house).
Thanks!

I'm not sure if you would save money on the actual dig, but there are other costs that could be reduced via planning and having the work done with the house build. Electric access, plumbing access, building a small pump house and making sure nothing is buried in the pool area are things that come to mind.

Im not sure how the states compares to Australia with regard to actual costs (usually Australia is WAAAAY more expensive though), but excavation is cheap.
Here, the major cost is getting rid of the excavation spoil.

As Tim says, provided you will still have adequate access later, then all you should worry about now is future services for the pool.
