Intex Pool Setup Done!!!!!

Jun 22, 2008

Well actually it's been up for a little over a month but I have finally gotten out of it to post some pictures. It's the 18' x 48" frame set. Everything went pretty smooth except for the cheap intex pump it came with which I already knew wouldn't last. I changed it out after 2 weeks to a Sand Filter setup. I was worried after hearing all the plumbing issues on here but I had none. Water has been crystal clear from day one. I'm using the BBB method and the TF100 test kit. My only regret now was not buying a larger more permanent pool. There's always next year I guess. Only thing left now is to finish the outside perimeter. Thanks for all the great info on this site.

1 1/2'' Slip Coupling to Adjust Skimmer when needed. 1 1/2'' to 1 1/4'' reducer allows the stock skimmer to pop right in. I can pop it out and attach my new 1 1/4'' hose very eaisly.

Actually it's 30# Roofing Felt Paper. Several posts i've read mentioned it for use in AGP setup. Being a roofing contractor I had a few extra rools laying around  .

I'll try and take some photos tommorow of the fountain running.

Nicely done. My setup is fairly similar.. I used regular weed block under the sand and I have a small, mulched flowerbed w/ a natural rock border around about part of the base. I also have a small deck around part of the pool. I do have an unfinished part around the base and my equipment area needs a little bit of "finish".. I wish I'd thought of the roofing felt. That's an outstanding idea.

What kind of fittings did you use to go from "Intex plumbing" to regular PVC? I have a smaller version (15'x42") of the same pool and I'm thinking that I'd like to hardpipe my setup.
