RPC 2100 flame starts and goes out multiple times

Good morning all.

Since it is summer and I don't need my heater for a while I thought I would look into why my pool heater goes through multiple flame on / flame off sequences before finally staying on. I find when I start the heater, I can hear the spark, then flame on, and then after a few seconds the flame goes out. It can repeat this for dozens of times before running properly. I thought there would be some kind of flame sensor, but can not locate one nor do I see one listed on the schematics of the unit.

unit is a P-R405AL-EN from Raypak.

The ignitor is also a flame sensor. You say it eventually lights which makes it a bit harder to troubleshoot. My first inclination would be the ignitor. However I have the options of having all the parts to swap one out to see which one is the issue.

Wanted to say thanks. Ignitor was the issue. 15 minutes later it was working perfectly.
