"The Pool Cleaner" doesn't stay in shallow end

Just switched to suction and got a POOLVERGNUEGEN "The Pool Cleaner". Seems to work well, but the problem is it isn't cleaning the shallow end. It seems like it turns around too quickly. Just when it starts to head the right direction, then it turns and heads back the other way. I know it is supposed to turn a lot to keep from hitting obstructions, but I don't understand why it turns so quickly that it can't get anywhere first. Hopefully this is adjustable? Does it need more flow?

Mine hangs in the deep end if I don't have the returns aimed down.
