Filter time

Are there general guidelines on how long I should be running the filter pump on my pool? My main concern is with the circulation & water cleaning needed and not with the generation of chlorine from my SWCG as I can adjust the % level there. I'd like to cut down on my electricity use but do not want to risk clarity in my pool and I'd rather not use a "trail and error method.

Mike, your pool is fairly large, how long do you run it currently.

Lower run times on pumps equals larger precentage output on SWG cells.

I don't have a SWCG so my case is different. Single speed pump, 6 hours per day. Enough time to skim most bugs, seeds, etc. and happy with water filtration/clarity. Really is trial and error with help from the Pool School article.

I run mine for as long as there is sun on the solar panels which is usually 5 hours daily.
