Cartridge filter leak where pressure gauge is located

So lately, I've been getting more and more bubbles at start-up. Today I found a air leak when the pump is turned OFF right where the pressure gauge is at.

I'm going to have my tech look at it this weekend, but until then, should I run the pump continuously? I don't want it to get so bad where the pump starts up dry and maybe cause damage.

A pressure side leak could cause the pump to lose prime when it is off, but the pump should be able to re-prime it's self when it starts up again. If you have actually seen the pump run dry, then yes, leave it running. But that seems unlikely to me.
