I was looking into purchasing a LED color light replacement bulb to replace my current lighting but they do not fit halogen sockets. Does anyone know if there is an adapter available so that I do not have to replace the entire lighting fixture which would require electrical work and a much more expensive kit.

LED bulbs existed for a wide range of light fixtures. You may just need to look around for something that will fit a bit more throughly.
