Balancing TA

I am new to TFP & this is my first post so if I am making mistakes please let me know.

I am trying to prepare my SWG pool to use borates (Borax). Currently my PH is 8.0 (too high) and my TA is 110 ppm. My understanding is that I first need to get TA in the 70-80 ppm range. Is the best (and quickest) way to accomplish this to add acid to lower PH & TA, then aerate the water which raises PH but not TA? How many times might I have to add acid and aerate to bring my TA down to 70-80. Are there other/better ways to lower TA?

I am currently taking water samples to my pool store but will order a TF-100 test kit.

Other info:

FC 3
Salt 3000
CH 380 (I was using Zappit 73 Calcium Hypochlorite but not more!)
CYA 60
Phosphates 500

ph tests dont usually read above 8 so it might be 8.1 or 9.1
at a guess i would think 3-4 appliacations over a few weeks
if your ph is closer to 10 a couple of big doses of acid may get you there in a week
check pool math link at top of page it will tell you how much acid to add
aim for 8 current 7.2 target
with pump on high retest after an hour and repeat as required
when you get your ph to 7.2 retest TA and see where you are
