Pre replacing water activities?

I plan to replace my water about 70-75% due to high CH (CH=750) as soon as the watering restrictions are lifted in our area.

Are there any activities or maintenance operations I should perform before the water is changed? Some ideas I have are any maintenance activities which will dirty the water or anything which needs to be done with waterline below its usual level.

I also have CH that high.

What is your driver to replace the water vs simply mantaining proper balance and an appropriate CSI?
What is your water supply CH? Mine was 450 last i tested (i do need to retest however...)

My main driver is water is salty to taste. Idk why but I guess since it is a low use pool most if the water in it last 3 years has been fill water for evaporation losses.

My fill water CH is 100.
