I run the original pump 24-7 and would like to add a second pump and filter to push water to a pool heater. I have the pump, filter unit and the hayward skimmer that was on my old intex pool. I would like to run the second pump about four or five hours a day when the sun would shine on the heater. Has anyone done this? Is the liner as thick as the intex?
Has anyone added a second skimmer and pump to the summer escapes 16' round pool?

Seems like a waste of energy to me, including running 24-7 which isn't normally required. You must pay next to nothing for electricity.

I live in Kansas. I wind never stops blowing and it very dry. If the pump doesn't run it's full of dirt, leaves and the water is not clear.
