I was vacuuming leaves yesterday and noticed it was very difficult to get the leaves off the bottom of the pool. I checked the suction and there was little to no suction. What can I do? Do I need a new pump? My current pump is maybe 2-3 years old. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There are a bunch of reasons why you have no suction:
1. pump doesnt work.
2. Filter is clogged.
3. hose is filled with debris.
4. the fitting that passes through the pool liner is plugged. (They usually have some kind of grid to stop big stuff from getting to your pump)
5. Your vacuum head is plugged.

Simple enough right. Just start knocking out the possibilities until you find the problem.

I always use the leaf rake and get the big stuff before I put the vacuum to work. Leaf rakes are awesome tools. They are almost as handy as my SpeedStir.
