sand in pool

Maybe you guys have a suggestion to try because I dont know what else to try. I keep getting sand in my pool. I have kids and I'm sure some of it is them. I think the problem goes beyond that. I have already replumbed the filter, bought a new multiport valve, changed the sand and lateral assembly in the Hayward S244T filter. Not sure what else I can do?? I just got a new liner installed so I thought that would help too because the old one was coming off the wall.

Some of the sand is powdery and some is course. I guess I will try the sock method over the return. Do you think that adding DE might help?

A sock/stocking over a return is a great idea. The kids might be tracking in the sand, or it might be coming out of the filter. If you see sand caught in the sock/stocking then there is a problem. If not then it's the kids.

I have zero air bubbles in the pump basket so that has me thinking that there is no leaks underground in the piping.
