Reliable SWG automated feeders.

Hi all,

I'm new to pools and we have just bought a property with one and now need to figure things out. It has some old hardware and I'm looking to replace it all and go to salt, however the problem is that I'm very unsure of what brands / models are good.

It seems from my limited experience that Zodiac, Astralpool seem be the more common brands around here and this is my local pool shop:
http://www.cygnetpools.com.au/Pool%20Equipment%20&%20Spare%20Parts.htm

I would like to have pH & Chlorine automated if possible, but it seems that the Zodiac Tri pH & Pro series aren't reliable. So I looked at the Astralpool ones and it seems the AstralPool VX models are common but they can have problems with their power supply cooling - causing it to lower salt output (usually during high temp days when you need it the most).

However, I haven't found anything in regard to AstralPool Viron Vxx pH or eQuilibrium Salt Chlorinators to know if they're any good. E.g:
http://www.alliancepoolstores.com.au/Pool-Chlorinators

Am I doomed to go down the automated pH & Chlorine path and should just stick to a timed Salt Chlorinator, or are there specific reliable brands around?

Cheers,
Dave.

There are a number of automated PH regulation systems that work, but no one makes an automated chlorine feed system that works reliably for residential pools. Simple percentage based control, common on almost all SWGs, is the best available system.
