I added cya acid again yesterday and there was still some coming out the returns in the pool. Maybe a handful out of each my best guess. After the first time I noticed this I took the filter apart to look at the sand. I seemed to be channeling around the pipe because all the other sand was packed hard. Okay, broke the sand up and cleaned a load of junk out the sand using a water hose. Next it was suggested to change my wagon wheel gasket. Did that and actually had to replace the spring. Acid still getting by the filter. Now what should I do?

Can you post the particulars of your pool and filter/pump? Better yet, add it to your signature so it's always handy when you ask a question. You get there by going to the User Control Panel under the TFP logo in the upper left.
I was just told by the one pool store to replace the lateral assembly in the filter.
Another fellow told me that it was normal for some particles to get by?
