Indoor pool - CYA or no CYA?

As far as I can tell, the previous owners of our house did not use CYA in the indoor pool at all. There was none in their pool chemicals, and I got my testing kit today and the test for it came back without any trace.

Should I be adding CYA, or just run with it as is and figure that's one less chemical to worry about? Resources I've seen online have suggested it's kind of optional... but which is optimal?

I am sure the link that Richard provided has a LOT of good info.

The nut shell: We recommend 20-30ppm of CYA in indoor pools (about as low as you can measure) not for the sun protection, but for the buffering effect so the chlorine is not so harsh on your skin, hair, and suits.
