Losing water through backwash hose

I'm losing water through the backwash hose even if the handle is on filter. There is also a little bit of water around the handle. I'm thinking, I may need to change the gasket of the filter. If my model of filter can be changed. I've never done this. So I really need step by step instructions please. Thank you

You can plug the hoses with winterizing plugs, or a cork, or maybe even try ramming a carrot in the openings to plug them.

If you look on youtube, there are lots and lots of videos that show how to replace a spider gasket.

Take the old one one, put the new one in and lube it,

Thank you Richard320, I think that will work for the rest of the summer and in the fall when I close the pool I can open the filter and change it. I'll check out youtube. ty
