How much Clorine can burn off in a day?

OK, I've slowly been increasing the "guestimate" on the size of my pool (gallons). Yesterday my FC was 2. based on the pool math calculator, I used 6500g, FC 2, target 5, using 8.25 bleach. Calculator said to add 39oz.

Now, I am in SC, temps in the upper 80's, very humid. How much FC should burn off in a give 24 hr period. CC is virtually 0.

With a normal CYA and while maintaining normal FC levels. It is common to have to add 2-4ppm of FC every day.

Lower CYA and higher FC levels will result in higher losses.

With 40 CYA, keep the FC between 3 and 7, and never below 7 3.

When you dose the pool, aim for 7 FC. Wait 30 minutes and retest to make sure you hit target.

24 hrs. later, retest and adjust back up to 7.

Notice your FC is 2 in the first post. That is a no-no and an opportunity for things to start growing.

Roughly the half-life (depleted by 1/2) of unprotected chlorine in a pool is approx. 1 hour in full sun.
