Solar panels on grass?

Hi all,

I was thinking of buy a couple 2'x20' solar panels and just placing them on the ground beside the pool. Is it okay to do this? I have about 5' on one side between the fence and pool and would put it there. I was also thinking of building a small triangle box so I could put maybe 8'x20' worth of panel in the same area.

I laid mine down on top of some shipping pallets, but lots of folks lay on the grass. The drawback is the grass does grow up through the little slits like the coil I made does, that is why I used the pallets.

Okay, so on the grass is not a problem for the panel. I was planning on placing some fabric under the panel to prevent stuff growing through it.
