Cloudy pool need some "clarification" on what to add

Hello all,

My pool has been doing great but I just went out of town for a week for work. Had my girlfriend taking care of the pool now it was pretty green and very cloudy. I have been slamming it all week and have vacuumed most of the algae out bit it's still cloudy. I think I need to lower the ph to clear it up?

Here are my test results

FC 10-14 since Friday night
PH 8.0
alkalinity 130
Cya 25

Will lowering the ph help the cloudy water?

Don't mess with the pH.

When FC is above 10, the pH reagent reacts and reads falsely high.

PH at 8.0 is a little high, but not normally high enough to cause cloudy water (unless your CH level is very high). Plus the PH might actually be a little lower than it measures. FC between 10 and 15 can cause small errors in the PH test results.

How has your filter pressure been behaving?

It's been looking normal. I have been cleaning the filter off very frequently.

Then the filter is working. As long as you see any water clarity improvement from day to day you should just give the filter time to do it's job.
