Reading the manual prior to installation and came across this. "Do not add any pool water balancing chemicals including salt unless the IECG is turned off." When I add liquid muriatic acid or bleach if I need to help out the swg at any time or more salt how long do you think I should leave it off? I run my pump during the day and add chemicals as needed in the morning. My pump runs 7 hours on low speed and 3 hours on high speed.

Don't add any chemicals directly to the skimmer when you have a SWG. But you are fine adding chemicals as we recommend, by pouring slowly in front of a return jet. By the time they get to the SWG they will be throughly mixed in and there won't be any issues.
