did i buy the appropriate pump?

hi all, i have a 38,000 litre fibreglass saltwater pool. My sand filter is hayward s244t, my pump is hayward super II pump 1hp.
Is this a good 'balance?'
Reason i ask is because I've got some constant sand at the bottom of my pool. It's not from backwashing, it's a little bit everyday building up.
I think it's either a broken lateral, or a spider gasket needing replacement?

The pump is a bit of overkill for your setup assuming you have no water features and may not be the most economical choice, but should work ok
