I broke one of these on my polaris pump, the suction side (suction side for the booster at least), just after the filter :

I think I'd rather hard plumb. Does anyone know the thread size for the quick connects? Do I use 1" schedule 40 PVC? If it's 3/4" threaded size and 1" PVC, I'd want this part here, right? http://www.homedepot.com/100163209

and a union http://www.homedepot.com/p/100345689

Am I on the right track here? Or am I better off just buying the part I broke?

It's all 3/4 inch. You could hard plumb or replace the hoses and fittings. I would recommend redoing the suction and pressure plumbing.

Those fittings look dry rotted, and the pressure side is under a lot of pressure. Also, you're missing the retainer clips that keep the collars from backing off of the hose.

The Polaris hose kit (P-17) is a pain to install, but it works OK if you can get the collars up high enough to install the retainer clips.

Alternatively, you could use the Pentair 353020 hose kit.

You should be able to find the parts locally. If you want, you can use a 3/4-inch threaded plug to plug the hole in the supply T so that you can run the system until you're ready to redo the plumbing or hose kit.

Thanks, I managed to get everything I needed at the big box store and cemented everything in yesterday. Everything I did works and isn't leaking. Of course now the pressure side is dripping. Oh well, the first part was easy enough. If anyone sees this thread in the future, it's really easy. The hardest part was not getting purple primer everywhere.
