Not sure if this is the right place to post this question or not.

I'm having some problems with calcium scale and staining from the dirty calcium. Has anyone found a good solution to slowly reduce these scales short of an acid bath ?

Thanks for any help.

From what I hear high calcium (your is not terribly high) and high pH can contribute to calcium deposits. I assume you are having this problem at the waterline?

An acid solution can be used with a lot of scrubbing to reduce this.

I talked with a guy that will bead-blast the tile for about $1 per foot of perimeter. No too terribly expensive if it has to be done every 5-7 years or so. Just do your reasearch on the hardness of the bead used and what damage it could do to your tile.

I'm actually noticing some calcium buildup on the plaster as well, below the waterline. It was a process that started before we purchased the house. It's now become my problem.
