I am wondering if anyone ever tried the AquaPower Weir? http://www.aquapowerpool.com/ When I got my pool I always noticed that the surface flow was horrible and the skimmer looked like it had poor "flow" ... their was always unwanted stuff of the surface. Neither of the 2 pool guys I had or the other two that I interviewed ever even mentioned that my skimmer had no weir and I could or should consider getting one, I figured it out from an excellent YouTube video I found about pool flow. I bought a universal spring mount and added it and WOW what a difference it made. I then replaced all my jets with the Infusion Pool Jets http://infusionpool.com/ and truly the combo made a remarkable improvement... solved the entire issue for me.

I do not have a 2 step or variable speed pump but my interest in this device is simply if it could possibly increase the flow/suction to the skimmer then I would get it to add that last bit of improvement.

Just googled it... Sold by Amazon now for $60 - seems pricey to me

I definitely agree which is why I would only do it if it really did increase the flow to my existing skimmer

I'm surprised nobody on the forum has tried this yet... if I can find a local dealer with it in stock I am going t pick one up today and give it a try... I will try and setup a few tests that will validate the device and report back.

No one is inclined to try it because it is solving a problem no one has. Unless you have more than two skimmers the odds are excellent that conventional skimmers will work just fine at the lowest possible pump speed, so there is nothing this device can possibly improve on, while it adds additional complexity that can break or need maintenance.
