What is the chemical used in HTH Shock & Swim? Is it Calcium Chloride, Potassium Monopersulfate or something else?

Bottles of unscented bleach is usually the best thing to use. Too much calcium causes scaling, and the other granular products have CYA which, if you get too high, will make your chlorine less effective. Use the PoolMath calculator to determine how much to add to raise FC to desired level.
What I mean by usually is that if someone has a plaster pool and is low on CH I'd use Cal-Hypo. For any pool low on CYA, I would use granular Dichlor/Trichlor. For a pool that already has properly balanced chemicals, I would only use bleach.
