Had new liner put in and filled it 2 days ago, the results of new fill were:

FC 0
CC 1
pH 7.2 (or less hard to tell w colors)
TA 40
CH < 50
CYA 0, put enough CYA in a sock to bring it up to 30

I shocked the pool during the day, raised FC to about 5 and I passed to overnight test this morning. CC is less than .5 and I only lost .5 of FC

Now I want to tackle the pH and TA.

The pool came with a product called pH+ but I don't want to use it because it will add sulfer to my pool and I will instead go buy Borax. Is this wise?

Also I will raise my TA by adding baking soda.

Raise pH ~ 7.5 1st, then raise TA to 90.

Am I on the right track?

Because the tendency is for most pools to have a slow rise in pH naturally, I would leave pH alone.

I would raise the TA using baking soda to about 90

Of course, your FC is far more important so don't lose track of it.....keep it around 2 - 4 all the time. You will need to replenish it daily.
