Enclosing filter and SWG in Deck Box?

I've seen people that have done this as to protect the filter and SWG from the elements. Wondering if it's a good idea? I found a good size rubbermaid deck box on Craigslist for $100, and I'm contemplating getting it. Is it really necessary? Will it prolong the life of the filter and SWG? If it's just for looks, I probably don't really care. But if it helps protect the stuff, then it's probably a worthy investment.

The pump motor and maybe the SWG need ventilation or they may get too hot. So, I would not recommend fully enclosing them.

That price seems to be about the same as buying a box new. If you just want to protect the pump, you could buy this for a lot less. I just noticed it is cheaper online than I paid in the store. I guess I should have had it "shipped" to the store to say $5.

We did the same thing. Added a fan to keep pump cool though.

Look to the right side. Might can see the roof of it.
