So, my poor old well has expelled the last of the 13,500 gallons needed to fill the pool. The DE filter is humming along, and charged with 4 lbs. of DE.

I threw in a bottle of bleach and a bottle of 'instant conditioner'.

I took some initial readings. This was about an hour after adding the liquid CYA and the Clorox.

FC 7
CYA was below 20 (the dot got blurry a bit, but was still obvious...but again, this was within an hour of adding the stuff.
pH 7.8
TA 160

Was wondering where you guys thought I should go from here. I believe the TA is pretty high, but lowering it raises pH...which is already high?

Thanks! I'm excited to employ the TFP method of pool chemistry. :)
