Hey folks, I have a question.

according to the Pool calculator, for my 80,000 litre pool:

Each 200g puck of trichlor lowers PH by .12
Each 200g puck of stabilizer lowers PH by .05

I would have expected the opposite...by does stabilizer by itself have a smaller effect?

THX!

Thanks, (and please forgive me!). I hadn't really considered that it was different acids. I thought trichlor was just a name for stabilized chlorine, using the same acid as would be in a stabilizer puck.

I really don't use pucks much, and will soon be re-filling after my new liner is in. I thought about using Trichlor to get both FC and CYA, but I can see that's not really any easier if I have to manage PH as well.
