Help Lots of air in the lines

We had our pool up for 13 days everything was fine. Then the inlet valve at our skimmer basket started to rattle and make whiney sounds. We use to burp the filter a couple of times a day and the water would come out after a second or two - now when we bleed it, it takes 30 seconds or more for the water to come out. When it gets bad, water is gushing through the lines and the swg and lots of air bubbles come out of the outlet into the pool. Water is high. We have a big Hayward cartridge filter with a Hayward dual speed pump. What should we do?

Air is being drawn into the system somewhere. One common possibility is that a low water level in the pool can cause a vortex in the skimmer that draws in air. If that isn't it, check the seal on the pump strainer basket lid.

If you ever opened it up to empty the basket, all it takes is a blade of grass to get caught under the lid.
This is a brand new pump and filter from the factory. 13 days old. My husband has only opened the basket lid to check if it was seating correctly. Which he just did again, and he lubricated the o-ring with Jack's, he filled the basket to the top with water. put everything back on very carefully and snugly. The pool water is filled to the proper place - bottom edge of the gray seam. He switched on the pump, everything was nice for 30 seconds, then the rattle started and the water in the basket dropped way down. A bunch of air is getting in very quickly. Where else should we look?
