All,

Just some friendly info. I was able to adapt my Summer Escapes 16" x 48" pool to the Intext 2650 sand filter with just the following FOUR parts: (Of course you will need two 50lb bags of pool sand from the dreaded pool store preferably.)

http://www.amazon.com/Summer-Escape...2400715&sr=8-6&keywords=intex+skimmer+adapter - Allows you to connect your Intex sand filter inlet to your existing skimmer and eliminates the cheap stock pump. Requires a hose clamp just over 2".

http://www.lowes.com/pd_192069-1003-AFT601_0__?productId=3151503 - Connects directly (pressure fit) over you exsiting return inlet, and Intex hose clamps to the fitting. Requires a second hose clamp just over 2".

http://www.lowes.com/pd_55349-33599-CL24PK2_0__?productId=3878544 (2 pack) - Used to connect the Intex hoses to the above two fittings.

As far as the screw on connections, I slid them back to the pump over the hose in case I decide to hard plumb at some point.

The pressure fit on the return side is very tight. I have been running the pump for a while now and it has not tried to come off. You could always PVC glue the fitting for a more secure fit. I have not done so because I thought maybe I will come up with something better eventually or hard plumb the lines at some point.

Hope this helps some folks out there with Summer Escapes Pools.

Home Depot carries the proper sand in their garden center or where ever they keep pool supplies. It has worked great for me for two years:)

I did notice that and it was my original plan, however, there were several other folks reporting that the sand was coming out of the filters. It appears that either Home Depot might have had a bad shipment or the sand size has changed. There are a few threads on here about it.

Since the pool store sand was the same price ($9.99) as Home Depot, I went with the pool store just to be on the safe side.
