Are all brand of filters the same??

I think we need to get a new filter this year. We have the original one in there that was a Unicel. I was looking at them online and it looks like there are replacements for the Unicel and are cheaper than I can buy the original at lighthouse. Are all filters going to be the same and do the same job, or should I stick with the Unicel brand?

Well it did, until I read the comments under the part 2 video, lol. Now I'm not so sure again. This is probably going to be something where everyone has their own opinion.
