adding muriatic acid safely

Any advise as to best way to add muriatic acid to pool safely without have to breath harsh vapors. I am adding muriatic acid to pool's return outlet while pump is running but when acid hits water vapors escaping from pool and container making it difficult not to breath vapors.

Lower the bottle into the water (keep the opening a few inches above the water) and slowly pour that way. I see some vapors, just make sure the wind is blowing away from you.
