I used Adam's post and went to HD and got a 1" coupling with a 1"male pvc adapter and used that to hook the tubing to the pool. It's clearing some of the black stuff out of the pool. I beleive I figured out what happened. Our boiler was backfiring and we had black smoke co ing from the roof vent. I beleive the soot from that was finding it's way to the pool. I netted 95% out lastnight then used the vacum. Now today the water looks sooo much better.
