Wait 30 days before turning on SWG

Tried searching but too many posts returned with salt in topic.

PB is getting ready to plaster (CLI Industries Black Pearl) and they told me we have to wait 30 days before turning SWG on, is this right/normal? What's the purpose for waiting? I wasn't at home when PB discussed with my wife so trying to figure out what's going on a why.
