I really only want a simple outside timer that will mount to the 6x6 under my existing outlet, that I can program and the pump plug then plugs into it.
I have one like this worked all last summer and started up fine this year
I do take it in over the winter.
Make sure it matches the amp draw on your pump, Mine mounted on the post just like you mentioned
I'm going to install one today. This is what I get: Intermatic Weatherproof timer looks like a lot of people are using this kind. Make sure you get one that is designed for your pump HP.
I use the Intermatic Self-Adjusting Switch Timer on mine. Has worked really well and is quite easy to use. Mine is MDL ST01 series, but I have had it for the past four yrs, so assuming it has since been replaced by a different model. Good luck! Can't beat timer!
I'm using the Intermatc p1131 with the twist lock plug. I mounted it on the 4x4 right next to the receptacle and it works great. Got it for about $60 from amazon.
I recently picked up a timer for my pump. I have the salt water generator plugged into its own outlet with power 24/7. I then have the pump on the timer which kicks on for 10 hours during the afternoon and evening. Here is what we got from amazon..
